Welcome to BMC PHO Banh Mi Che Cali, a vibrant dive into the authentic flavors of Vietnamese cuisine located at 1001 S Glendora, West Covina, CA. Here, the aroma of fresh baked baguettes and spicy herbs fill the air, inviting you to indulge in an array of culinary delights. This establishment specializes in Vietnamese sandwiches, but its charm extends well beyond the classic banh mi.
BMC PHO Banh Mi Che Cali caters to all types of diners. Whether you are in the mood for a quick takeout meal, a relaxed lunch with friends, or a cozy dinner with family, this casual restaurant has something for everyone. With vegan options and a wheelchair accessible environment, all patrons are welcome. They also offer features such as delivery, on-site parking, and even dog-friendly dining, allowing guests to enjoy their meals in a variety of ways.
As I savored their banh mi, I was reminded of the rich traditions of Vietnamese street food. The balance of flavors—from the marinated meats to the fresh vegetables—creates a delightful harmony that's hard to resist. Customer reviews highlight the #2 banh mi, which stands out for its robust taste and crunch, making it a popular choice among loyal customers. The egg rolls, noted for their perfectly seasoned pork and shrimp filling, also deserve special attention. Despite rising prices, patrons continue to rave about their quality, confirming that the flavors are worth the splurge.
Another dish that caught my attention is their beef curry with French bread. This is a cold-weather comfort food that invites diners to dunk warm, crusty bread into a fragrant curry broth—a satisfying experience that’s adored by many. While the chicken curry might not be as remarkable according to some, it still holds value for those looking to enjoy a flavorful meal.
What’s more, BMC PHO Banh Mi Che Cali offers a delightful array of ready-made food options, perfect for those on the go. From the crispy shrimp spring rolls to rice dishes straight from the kitchen, there’s plenty to explore. Their seasonal happy hour specials and catering options for events make them an excellent choice for both casual dining and larger gatherings.
Despite occasional parking challenges during busy hours, the excellent customer service shines through, with a warm atmosphere ensured by the friendly staff. Many patrons highlight the attentive service, which adds to the overall enjoyable dining experience.
BMC PHO Banh Mi Che Cali is a treasure for anyone seeking a taste of Vietnam right in West Covina. With their tantalizing menu and inviting atmosphere, this Vietnamese sandwich haven promises to exceed your expectations—one bite at a time.
“ I have to give it a 5 stars cuz the cashier lady is super nice. I went in here for a banh mi sandwich, # 2, with everything on it lol. I remembered back in the days maybe 10 years ago when the egg rolls were only 50 cents and I would buy a party tray, 50 pieces for $25, to take it to my work for company potluck. It was a big hit, and then the price went up and I got it less and less, then I stopped completely for potluck lol. Now is $1.20 for 1 egg roll. Is a little pricey but is really good, I like these here cuz it has pork and shrimp with mixed vegetables and the seasoning is just perfect, the crunch of the first bite, you just want more lol. I sometimes just get 2-3 pieces to fill my cravings. Everything on their menu went up, yes inflation has a lot to do with it but is still over priced. My opinion, I think they know lots of people love their food even though there's tons of Vietnamese restaurants around. Their pho isn't that bad, is pretty good in fact and is a couple of dollars cheaper then the restaurants. If you ever had the chance to get their beef curry with the French bread, is really good, dunking your bread into the curry soup and eating it. Is a satisfying dish, especially for a cold or rainy day. The chicken curry one is ok, not the best because of the flavor compared to the beef. I noticed they have a lot of ready made food to go, some are good like the shrimp spring rolls, bunh cunh ( spelled wrong?) is like their tiny rice cakes, is probably like 6-8 pieces wrapped up, it comes with a fish sauce, is pretty good. I tried the bbq chicken leg with rice and a side salad, is ok, the chicken looks delicious but is dry. But overall, I come in once in a while just to grab a quick bite and don't want to sit in a restaurant and wait for service. They do have tables for you to sit and eat and enjoy your meal. There's plenty of parking. I sometimes park on their lot just to go to the supermarket across from here. The parking lot is crazy packed on Friday and the weekends cuz of the Haven City food court. Come on in and grab a baguette bread to go, when is fresh in the morning is good, is sold out fast like hot cakes lol ”
“ This place services definitely much better , as well cleaner than most of Banj Mi Che Cali, thanks to the lady in front. Food are good with reasonable price. ”
“ tried this place handful times, different locations their sammies r more than decent but just wished their bread were better we esp like da headcheese (#2) option & it doesnt hurt when they have buy-2-get-1-free dealz ”
“ There is an option for easy & affordable takeout Vietnamese food on the counter. I like the shrimp spring rolls & the rice paper rolls wrapped with meat. ”
“ I've tried the chicken noodle soup and the baguette size bbq pork banh mi. The soup is tasty on a cold night and the banh mi hit the spot, I'd like more veggies but can't complain the taste is excellent! Usually I don't have to wait long to get my order. Parking is atrocious since the opened up the Ogopogo Brewery in Haven City! Fighting for a parking spot. Not much on ambiance, although they have spartan dining tables, it's more of a get your order and take it home!!! Know what your going to order before...if your hungry the menu border can get distracting, yum!!! ”
“ #1 Ham and Meat Loaf Banh Mi. So good. Went here 1 hour before closing. I love Banh Mi and they have BUY 2 GET 1 FREE. Fresh Banh Mi bread with veggies inside. Only fault was that 1 of their bread only has 1 cilantro stem in it. I haven't tried their other dishes but their Banh Mi is really delicious. We got their BUY 1 GET 1 Boba Milk Tea. Boba is chewy. It's clumped together and hard to suck with the straw. Milk tea is good. Not too sweet. ”
“ We craved for some banh mi and this is our go to spot, easy and convenient and affordable. Ordered the usual bbq pork. Great tasting as always. ”
“ I was in the same plaza and happened to notice this place while driving out because their b2g1 free signage. They have a wide selection of items on the menu along with premade foods that are our such as spring rolls, hu tieu, banh cuons, desserts, chicken rice platters, etc. I noticed a few people going in to grab the chicken rice platters as I did as well since I was so astonished how inexpensive it was only $7. You would NEVER be able to find anything for these prices up here from where I'm from. It would have easily been double the cost. They also had b1g1 free milk teas. So for their special free deals for sandwiches and teas, there's separate sections on the menu where you could choose from which makes it easier so you know what you're able to get. The sandwiches were around $6 each and were for the french breads. The sandwiches were decently big in size but they could use a bit more meat in their sandwiches but it really was good you could easily taste the butter and pate. I got all 3 meatloaf, ham, and head cheese. I grabbed their spring rolls which weren't that good. Banh cuon was not that good either. I'm not sure if it was because I ate some of these the next day but I'm very familiar how these things are supposed to taste. The spring rolls and banh cuon lacked a lot of flavor. Have yet to try the quarter chicken leg rice platter but it looks good. ”
